You Don't Have to Battle to Understand Spanish
Many people have anxiety about learning a new language, but it does not have to be hard. When you approach it in the right way, it's quite enjoyable! A whole new world is opened when you learn a new language. Consider how much more comfortable you'll feel if you do any traveling. Not only that, but you may find you can talk to more people right where you live. If you know two or more languages, you are also qualified for many more jobs. Spanish is definitely emerging as America's second language.
Today Spanish is spoken almost as much as English and there are quite a few people who do not know English at all. That's why people who are bilingual and can translate Spanish are highly in demand right now.
Remember that you need to be patient. It will take longer than 24 hours to become fluent in Spanish. Even if you had all the vocabulary and verbs remembered, your sentence structure may need a little work. You'll get nowhere fast if you put a lot of pressure on yourself to speak fluently in too short a time. So allow yourself to slowly learn. If you do this you'll find you're more comfortable with Spanish. If people know you're learning their language, when you talk to them they'll be more patient with you. You need to be careful so you don't offend anyone. Whenever you can, start to think in Spanish rather than your native language. Whenever you catch yourself thinking about anything, make the effort to translate whatever it is into Spanish. Take your time and learn how to do this at your own pace. In your everyday life, consider how various phrases that occur to you would sound in Spanish. if you do this often, you'll find that you get much more skilled at it. As you practice, you will notice that you can translate words faster. Before long you might find that you are thinking in Spanish without even making an effort to do so. Of course, you also want to say some of these thoughts out loud, so your ability to speak improves as well.
One time-tested tool to help you learn are flashcards. This may seem very simple, but it works well. Simply remembering what words mean is really what a large part of a language comes down to, and this method helps you do that. Test yourself or have someone else test you in areas like grammar and using verbs in a variety of tenses. Carry flashcards with you to work, if you take a train, bus or plane or wherever you go. It make it more fun if someone else helps you with them. Write your native language on one side, Spanish on the other and you are ready to go!
It's great to learn a new language, but many times its not easy to find out the best way.
You might be thinking about driving to the closest bookstore and getting a book about it. You can check out classes, or even start meeting people who are fluent in the language. You'll find many available options for learning Spanish, or any other language. Have fun with it!
